Supporters Mark 30th Anniversary of Mumia Abu-Jamal's Arrest

On Wednesday, Dec.7, DA Seth Williams announced that he would not seek the reinstatement of the death penalty by not calling for a new sentencing hearing for death row journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal. Today is the 30th anniversary of Mumia's arrest on Dec. 9, 1981. An historic event for Mumia featuring Cornel West, Michelle Alexander, and many others, will be held tonight at 7pm at the Constitution Center, 5th and Market (watch the live stream here.). Earlier in the day, there is also a press conference at 11am, Friends Center, 1515 Cherry Street and a Honk for Mumia, 4pm – 5:45, East Side of City Hall.
