Rally/Speak Out in Philadelphia
Come and speak your mind! Wachovia Bank has a major branch across the street from the rally. Wells Fargo is getting a $25 billion tax cut for taking over Wachovia Bank, which had ties to the African slave trade and a history of redlining Philadelphia neighborhoods.
* Everyone needs to get involved. For information on the next actions and meetings or to endorse this rally: Call 215-724-1618 or email: BailoutTheNeedyNotTheGreedy@gmail.com

The U.S. government is giving over $700 billion to 'bail out' banks that bought and sold sub-prime loans. This money will line the pockets of super-rich bankers who already rake in millions of dollars in 'salaries' and golden parachutes.
Meanwhile the people targeted by their sub-prime loan scams – mainly women, single heads of households, people of color, elderly and working poor -- are losing their homes in record numbers. Because of discrimination many of these people had been denied regular loans even when they were eligible. Today over 4 million households in the U.S. face the threat of foreclosure and evictions and the number is growing by the hour. But the government isn't offering to help them out – the bailout will only go to the bankers who caused the crisis.
Across the country people just like you are coming together and organizing to fight for the things we really need. With all the greed on Wall Street and the corruption in Washington it won't be easy, but we have to try. We can't afford not to!
IT'S TIME FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO DECLARE AN ECONOMIC STATE OF EMERGENCY AND GIVE DIRECT HELP TO THE PEOPLE--NOT THE BANKS
The following are some of the growing list of emergency measures that people across the country will be raising at protests during the Days of Action:
--Emergency moratorium on home foreclosures and evictions
--No budget cuts in education, healthcare and all social services
--No layoffs, extend unemployment benefits
--No utility shut-offs
--Debt relief for students, poor and working people
--Protect public and private pensions
--Jobs at a living wage
We are asking for grassroots, community and youth organizations, trade unionists, anti-racist forces, the anti-war movement and everyone who's just mad as hell about the 'bailout' to both endorse this call, and take ownership of it. Plan actions during this period of time in your cities across the country.

Bail out everybody in the 95 percentile,
Submitted by Stan (no verificado) on Dom, 11/23/2008 - 11:39amThere are roughly 43 million people who dont pay taxes or get a refund from the government. These are the people who are in trouble right now. I owned a small landscaping business that went under in October 2008. Nobody is spending money. I know I could use some cash to pay off my debts and relocate to a better area. I say Give each family of 2-4 $250K, and each larger family $500K, each single person $50K, Think about what the economy would do then.Car sales go up,house sales up,mortgages paid off, investments, savings accounts, and retail sales would only go up. There would be a small percentage that would quit their jobs or just blow it on drugs or something crazy of course. But I believe the majority would start their own business or invest it in their future.

Bailout the People
Submitted by Joe (no verificado) on Mar, 12/09/2008 - 11:35amCause:
What has happened is the people (Banks/ Mortgage & Credit Card Companies) that caused the problem are receiving bailout money and the people that can fix the problem are loosing their jobs.
Solution:
We need a stimulus package for the people that would be large enough to help people pay off their bill. I have three different proposals
1. Each tax payer gets a refund check twice what they reported for income in 2007 taxes
2. Or each homeowner receives a $250,000 stimulus check
3. Or each taxpayer receives $175,00 for a couple and $75,000 for single
Benefit:
Any of these ideas would work and get the economy moving in the correct direction, because,
1. People would pay off their bills – saving the banks
2. People would retire – increasing the number of jobs available
3. People would invest in the stock market or housing market and purchase new vehicles
