For ages progressive activists have grappled with a number of nagging
questions on how to bring about positive social change in the here and now
while aiming for a future where working people, rather than businesses and
politicians, truly and democratically run society .
On Thursday, June 19th @ 7 PM @ The Wooden Shoe (508 South 5th St) , Kim
Keyser an activist from the anarchist movement in Norway seeks to take on
this complicated topic of strategy. This summer he'll be touring the US
with an illustrated presentation called "The Prefigurative Organization".
The presentation will try to answer the question "How can we reflect the
future we want, in our present work?". It will touch upon subjects such as
direct democracy, direct action, workers councils, anarchist organizing
and involvement in social movements.
A complementing pamphlet called "The Prefigurative Organization" - which
has been made specifically for the speaking tour - will be available.
After the presentation there will be plenty of time to ask the speaker
questions and engage in discussion.
