The last evening of the 2008 Palestine Film Fest features two films. The first film is based on the book of the same title by Dr. Jack Shaheen, an essay documentary featuring the author as the narrator and spokesman. Dr. Shaheen exposes the history and ideological foundations of Hollywood’s blatant and persistent bigotry and stereotyping against Arabs and Moslems from the early silent period to contemporary blockbusters and action pics. Shaheen is authoritative, eloquent and passionate throughout, calling for an end to this cinematic Orientalism and for basic decency and compassion. 2006 50 minutes
