Just a reminder here that the Grand Bargain was not conceived as a "deal" between the Republicans and Democrats to cut the "entitlements" in exchange for some "revenue." That's the "Balanced Approach" that was set forth by the President in the 2012 campaign.

As I’ve said, I don’t think that the healthcare.gov clusterfuck means that Obamacare is doomed. I assume it’ll be fixed eventually, and ultimately will be the least of the program’s problems. But, you know, I knew people in HHS who assured me (awhile ago) that Sebelius was on top of implementation, that competent management was her key skill.

A new media is in the making. Springing from a spirit of rebellion, from everywhere, anywhere and nowhere.
A quality media, because being an activist does not mean giving up being a journalist.
An independent media, because being a journalist does not mean giving up being a revolutionary
A creative and surprising media, because being reliable does not mean being boring.

Today, September 17, marks the second anniversary of the Occupy movement. When that movement is mentioned at all in Washington, which is rarely, the tone is dismissive. It didn’t have coherent goals, someone may say. The movement needed an electoral strategy, someone else will add. No wonder it didn’t last.
That’s getting it backwards. The Occupy movement wasn’t the foundation for change; it was the reflection of a deeper desire for it. It was the effect, not the cause, and it won’t disappear because of the wishful thinking of a few.

Circumstance has changed things.
Much of the hard US Right is pro-peace. Russia is now more pro-peace than the US. Much of the formerly independence seeking Kurds in Iraq now dutifully try to patch up differences between Iraqi Shiites and Sunnis to prevent Turkey from seizing and independent Kurdistan.

Sunday September 15, 10 am to 6 pm ride the Broad Street line free.
Miller Light Beer is celebrating the Eagles game but will also give free rides at stops like Temple going away from the direction of the game.
Save money on a transfer and save money by changing certain trips such as going on Erie Ave from the North East passing the El stop and getting on the SEPA trains at Broad and Erie instead.

(A: In 2008, Cheney Really Did Plan To Bomb Russia)
One of the wildest rumors about the Syria War going around last week claimed that Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s military chiefs to draw up plans for a full-scale military attack on Saudi Arabia if US-led forces bomb Syria.
