Members, supporters, and friends of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement attended the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrations on Saturday, October 1, 2011 to organize the North American/white participants there to Take the Pledge of Solidarity with African People and sign up to participate in the Black is Back Mobilization,"Stop the Wars & Build the Resistance," that is being held in Philadelphia on November 5, 2011.

On Friday September 26, 2012, prisoners in California resumed a hunger strike that had been suspended at the end of July after receiving statements by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that prison officials will meet some of prisoners' demands. "On the Block" speaks with Isaac Ontiveros about the recent developments. Also on Friday, Cynthia McKinney spoke to an audience in Philadelphia's Calvary United Methodist Church about her visit to Libya earlier this year. Here is a recording of her presentation.

Here is WSQT Radio (90.5 in DC, 2 hour broadcasts) coverage of the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City. For the weekend, the central part of Wall Street has been blocked off while thousands or protesters have been swarming everywhere else nearby. If protesters can force the cops to keep the barricades Monday, the resulting traffic could itself severely hobble Wall Street's operations!

SHE IS NOT UTILIZING THE NEW SKILLS OUR YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO COMPETE IN TODAY’S WORKFORCE. THEY SHOULD BE TRAINED IN SOLAR PANEL FITTING, WIND TURBINE MANUFACTURING, URBAN GARDENING. INSTEAD OF PROPOSING NEW VOCATIONAL CURRICULUM, ACKERMAN HAS WORKED WITH THE OLD SYSTEM AND ENDS UP CUTTING VOCATIONAL TRAINING.
