About the Film
"The Day After Peace," features Peace One Day's founder, Jeremy Gilley, & Peace One Day Ambassador Jude Law. The film follows Gilley as he travels the world to gain support for recognizing the International Day of Peace on a fixed calendar date - September 21st. But even after the member states of the U.N. unanimously adopt 9/21 as Peace Day, cease-fires on 9/21 are absent. In an effort demonstrate that Peace Day can work, even in an area of conflict, Gilley and Law travel to Afghanistan, where they attempt to spearhead a massive polio vaccination campaign by UNICEF. “The Day After Peace” is a moving testament to the power of the individual and the perseverance of the human spirit. This film has been screened worldwide, including at Cannes in 2008.
