Join us this Thursday evening, July 21, at 7pm, for a visit with book artist Steven Daiber, who will be sharing his artist books, including collaborations with Cuban artists. Steven Daiber and his Red Trillium Press have been traveling to Cuba since 2001 to build an ongoing and ever deepening dialog with artists there through supporting the creation of collaborative artist books. His workshops in small print studios and at universities have contributed to the creation and dissemination of a vibrant body of work that excites and challenges expectations, and address aspects of Cuban life from politics to popular culture to LGBT communities. Daiber supports these workshops and the creation of the work with donations of supplies, some very hard to procure in Cuba’s difficult economic and political climate. For more about his work, visit http://www.redtrilliumpress.com/.
