Immigration, it's not about Mexicans or any other race
Submitted by Ron Kemper (no verificado) on Sáb, 04/17/2010 - 5:48pmWhy would people so openly and aggressively break the law to enter this country? I would sneak into this country if I lived in the social and economic conditions of Mexico and wanted better, I’m not an idiot and neither are the Mexican people. If we were bordered on the south by any other nation with an economy similar to that of Mexico, the consequences would be the same. Those folks would be taking the same risks to reach the land of free education, free school breakfast and lunch, free and better healthcare and higher paying jobs just as furiously. We are the problem. We can’t say no. We are enablers. Our politicians tread lightly so as not to offend the Latin population. Would they tread as lightly if it were Greece on our southern border? They certainly wouldn’t want to be branded as racist against the Greeks. It is not about Mexicans or race. It is about economics, security and survival. Remove the “free” stuff for anybody who enters outside the law and the problem is solved. To “enable” Mexico to deal with its own problems through election or revolution would do both our countries a favor.
