Well yes. Ethically
Submitted by Oneiric Imperium (no verificado) on Mié, 11/19/2008 - 6:28pmWell yes.
Ethically speaking the far-right and far-left are both marginal extremes that tend to mirror each other pretty consistently in terms of both faults and merits. Both are merely ideas and both provide options for the individual on the immediate basis. I don't really identify with either and just use what is useful from both for my own self-interest. It's not very hard, for me anyway, to politely discuss these matters in a reasonable matter.
Besides who are the people of the IMC to anonymously spread lies and misinformation about other forms of marginal extremism, or anonymously makes threats against people who politely disagree with them (such as myself)?
I'm just one individual, local artist yet people felt the need to go to my friends and makes threats against me simply because I express a view offensive to the values of the group-mind they happen to identify with. The KSS may be no angels, nor certainly am I, however for being supposedly "fascists" they certainly aren't very totalitarian, and certainly not as totalitarian as the Stalinist streak that sadly comes out in a lot of you.
I think that along the way of pursuing a notion of liberation that perhaps many of you have became blinded to potentials and possibilities outside of your own specific reality tunnel. Now given that the so-called "Nazis" and "Nazi sympathizers" are willing to politely communicate these matters and come to some sort of reasonable resolution, doesn't that make your end the rigid, dogmatic and authoritarian ones?
You see what you're really seeing here emerge in the rest of the city outside of your section of west philly is a non-hierarchical, diverse, and organic evolution of Eurocentric interest and culture. Thats not something that you're ready to confront because you have to contradict your values to do so. Certainly its a scary grey area for some, but would rather see the "Nazis" and the "Nazi-Sympathizers" mutate into something else entirely, or must you keep things locked into a very specific context that isn't in any of our real long term interests?
I know that a lot of more reasonable far-leftists in west philly realize this and its only a small number of zealots egging this on, as well as perhaps naive youthful idealists still a little too angry to not have their bubble of self-righteousness and good intentions burst yet.
But to those cooler heads, well perhaps its time to pull these folks aside and tell them to let sleeping dogs lie.
