Their goal is to convince TIAA-CREF to stop investing in companies that profit from the Occupation, such as Motorola and Caterpillar. Like the South African anti-apartheid divestment campaign on the 1980s, supporters of this recent movement believe that public pressure is an effective way to stop the human rights abuses and bring peace to the Mideast.Originally published in BlackCommentator.com.
