Up to 20,000 unemployed Pennsylvanians will be hired using federal stimulus funds. Job slots will be in non-profit, public sector, or private sector jobs and all wages will be paid by the state of Pennsylvania.

Friends, a major state public jobs program has been announced by the PA Labor and Industry and Public Welfare Departments. The challenge now is to be sure that non-profits, companies and state and city agencies will step up and put these people to work.

Business owners and visionary's that are ready with plans on the drawing board, are granted free labor for six months, in hopes it can create long term jobs when the businesses grow as a result of the added labor. 20,000 families get to eat steak a few nights a week.
