Dessau, Germany — Oury Jalloh, a young African from Sierra Leone/Guinea, was violently detained by police terrorists in the city of Dessau, Germany and taken to a holding cell in the basement of the local police station. Four hours later his body was found in a charcoaled state, his corpse chained at the hands and feet to a fireproof mattress. When Africans marched in the streets demanding justice for Oury they were rutally attacked by the police.
Huntsville, AL – A young African named Samuel Ward was shot 5 times and killed by the police in Butler Terrace Projects. Members of his family and friends have joined InPDUM and pledged to wage a resistance for justice for Sam and the entire African community.
St Petersburg, FL - the contradiction with the St. Pete Police Street Crimes Unit(SCU) dicision of the police has come to a head. They beat a young brother named Tony Welch to death while in jail. They have also been engaged in constant harassment of InPDUM organizers.
The reality is that the police hold the African community at gunpoint while the U.S. and European imperialism steals our labor and wealth through taxes, court fines, bail money and overpriced, low quality food, housing and healthcare. When the ruling class steals trillions of dollars from the govt. they call it bail out money and tax cuts. When African people organize for our own economic development they call it crime. The prison system was built to contain the African population! African people make up only 12% of the U.S. population but we are 50% of the prison population. In Germany, a young African man from diamond rich Sierra Leone named Oury Jalloh was burned alive in a police station. No matter where we go its the same terror.
InPDUM demands the immediate removal of the U.S. police from our oppressed and exploited communities and their replacement with our liberation forces who defend our community against all forms of oppression. InPDUM is calling on such forces to join us in a discussion of building organization to resist colonial occupation of our communities by colonial police forces.
This episode of African Resistance Now takes on special significance as we enter the year 2012, marking the 40th anniversary of the APSP - a party founded with the mission of rebuilding and completing the Black Power Revolution of the 1960's. Through the next several episodes of ARN, InPDUM aims to win maximum participation in the APSP's upcoming plenary.
If we are to liberate ourselves we must understand this question. Come to the next broadcast of African Resistance Now and participate in this discussion.
