My grandfather walked with a very long stick adorned with many allegories. Tata Noah told me long ago that it represented our true nation, which was all unknown, because many of those living in the village had given in to the viciousness of the white people and did not follow the customs of our fathers. That hurt my Tata, so when I arrived, he ever and ever told me many things and stories of our nation...

Tata Noah chief of Indigenous communities

He was not very tall, but he was considered more Indigenous that other people from our country. His skin was almost white, like a Creole’s, and his eyes were the color of the sky. Some of his children took the same eye color. He was my Tata Noah, the grandfather of my father, chief of Indigenous communities of Mollepata and Mollebamba. He was always working, whether in the fields that the villagers had dedicated to him, or at home using our machine to make ice cream with fruit. It was what I liked best as a child; the frozen fruit was so diverse and delicious. I always remember my grandfather Noah in the largest room of the house, with his ice cream maker.

Please take a moment and help pass the NC Racial Justice Act, which promises to be a
model reform bill for the country.

Dear friends,

Please take a moment and help pass the NC Racial Justice Act, which promises to be a
model reform bill for the country.

Please make phone calls to Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight and Senate
Majority Leader Tony Rand. They need to hear from you.

It will just take a moment and all you need to say is, "I am calling to ask the
Senator to support the House version of the Racial Justice Act during the
concurrence vote in the Senate."

Sen. Marc Basnight: (919) 733-6854
Sen. Tony Rand: (919) 733-9892

The vote is expected to take place today during the NC Senate session today at 3 pm
EST.

Yesterday the NC Senate vote on the RJA was postponed moments before it was to
happen — not entirely a bad thing.

President’s House Commemorative Site Information Meeting for Construction Opportunities was the proposed agenda.

The out come of this meeting seems as historic as the project it self. D. J. Keating withdraw his bid to do the job in lieu of objections from the sub and general contractors in attendance.

The City of Philadelphia was set host a public information session for minority, women and disabled firms and minority and female building tradespeople interested in work on the historic President’s House site. The President’s House project is a permanent, outdoor commemorative installation, to be placed on the footprint of the President’s House, immediately adjacent to the Liberty Bell Center. Through architecture, landscaping, imagery and interpretive text, this installation will tell the story of the birth of a free nation and indefensible slavery existing side-by-side.

A true love story...

March 2009 - BINGHAMTON, NY – When I was about seven years old, my
dad was caught by my mom kissing another woman - a woman of the
‘caucasion persuasion’. So, I am, in case you haven’t guessed it, an
African-American. From the point of the ‘kiss’ and on, there were
problems, followed by an eventual separation. Being as young as I was,
I couldn’t grasp what was happening, and didn’t know enough about
either of my parents to blame the other person. So, it just was what
it was.

My mother, a very dark-skinned woman, would tell me about how other
black people would call her names like “darkie,” and similiar things.

Osayande will give a special presentation on race, patriotism and the Democratic presidential campaign. He will address the ways race has been used to undermine the historic candidacy of Barack Obama. He will also address how the reality of racism continues to trouble the experience of democracy in the U.S.

He hasn't said the word black out of his mouth, not even to talk about the color of his suit or his shoes! He cannot address the suffering of African people.

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell has come under fire recently for suggesting that some Pennsylvanians "are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate" for President. Sadly, he is correct.
