Two Chestnut Hill bakeries recently wrapped up filming "Fabulous Cakes," a TLC show featuring the country's top bakeries. The bakers and cake designers at Bredenbeck's Bakery and Night Kitchen Bakery, located just blocks apart on Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill, will take viewers on the journey of cake design concepts to show-stopping final products. In the wake of the devastation following the 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010, the African People’s Solidarity Committee, a white organization working under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, expresses our deepest solidarity with African people in Haiti. With at least 50,000 dead, hundreds of thousands injured and more than 3.5 million homeless, the conditions on the island have been described as unimaginable. With relief efforts moving slowly and the threat of mass starvation mounting, U.S. military occupation forces are being sent in, raising the specter of the brutal treatment of African people in New Orleans following the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. U.S. president Barack Obama has promised a massive U.S. relief effort with a pledge of $100 million to be sent to Haiti as an outpouring of support comes in from throughout the U.S. and around the world. All major media sources have sent reporters to the country’s capital, Port-au-Prince.

Coconut Oil SLAMMED – Soybean Growers make a KILLING If coconut oil is so good, why does it have a bad reputation? The simple reason is MONEY and GREED. Everybody knows coconut oil is a saturated fat. We are constantly told to reduce our saturated fat intake. The words saturated fat have become almost synonymous with heart disease. Very few people know the difference between the medium-chain saturated fatty acids in coconut oil and the long-chain saturated fatty acids in meat and other foods. To most people, saturated fat is saturated fat - an evil substance lurking in foods waiting for the opportunity to attack and strike you down with a heart attack.
