The dialogue device used in this traditional media piece is cute and reasonably useful for explaining the political issue, but it's just infuriating to see how American citizens are so poorly served by this really amateurish analysis that's so full of wishful thinking and what the advice columnist Miss Manners referred to as "mind-reading."
I saw this WaPo piece courtesy of Dean Baker’s Beat the Press blog and the illogic was so extreme I couldn’t even get past the first few paragraphs of the fictional exchange between “Barack” and “Paul” (Gee, I wonder who those two names could be representing? /snark)

"Richard and I am meeting with senior executives at a large US Bank tomorrow regarding Wikileaks. We want to sell this team as part of what we are talking about. I need a favor. I need five to six slides on Wikileaks - who they are, how they operate and how this group may help this bank. Please advise if you can help get me something ASAP. My call is at noon."

Corporate Media's Version of Economic Justice - by Stephen Lendman
Besides misreporting on Obama capitulating to Republicans, major media op-eds and editorials expressed support for a deal only the devil and super-rich love.
On December 7, a New York Times editorial headlined, "Voting for an Odious Tax Deal," saying:
No matter how disgraceful, "Democrats should vote for (it), because it is the only one they are going to get....Without this bargain, income taxes on the middle class would rise. Unemployment insurance for millions of Americans would expire. And many other important tax breaks for low-and middle-income workers (wouldn't) be possible."

Casino-Free Philadelphia | 02.14.2010
Fourteen Philly residents — ranging in age from 24 to 72 and including several grandparents and two members of the clergy, public school teachers, and life-long Philadelphians — lined the entrance to the SugarHouse construction site on the Delaware River last fall and refused to move. They were promptly arrested and held for more than 12 hours.
On the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, these individuals will stand before a judge and defend their First Amendment rights.

On September 24th, the twenty richest countries in the world came to Pittsburgh to "fix" the global economy, where they were greeted by mass protests against an economic system that benefits the wealthy. Over 100 people traveled to the G20 together in a "People's Caravan" that met with grassroots community groups from across Pennsylvania, including trailer park residents resisting eviction and people fighting pollution from coal mines.
The struggle for economic and social justice didn't start with the
caravan and it didn't end in Pittsburgh. For years people have been struggling for change in the neighborhoods, schools and workplaces of Philadelphia. Come to the Cavalry Church on October 18th and meet amazing groups fighting for economic justice right in our backyard!
