Seems Ann Coulter is at it again. She's again taken up a case and again the traditional media is covering just her side of the story and completely ignoring the side of the less-connected people who are on the opposite side of the issue.
This time, Coulter isn't talking about the 9-11 Widows, but about Kent State 41 years ago. In the first case, she claimed that the 9-11 Widows were attention-seekers who were pleased at having their husbands die during the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. Now, she's claiming that the students at Kent State were a "mob." I reveiwed the Kent State case in detail as a college student back during the early 1980s and no, the students were simply not organized enough to have constituted any sort of threat to the soldiers who opened fire on them.

What is really behind China's Communist revolution? Puzzle 1: why does China have a totally corrupt government? Puzze 2: Is China's bureaucratic corruption going to ruin the nation and economy in light of global financial crisis? How should one understand the Chinese Communist bureaucracy and its wild corruptive practice? Get realistic analysis and knowledge on Chinese economy, politics, and society from provocative Chinese thinker George Zhibin Gu of World Association of International Studies at Stanford University (5 parts)
Onground probe by George Zhibin Gu of China (5 parts):
China's unfinished revolution: how to get rid of universal rights of government vs corruption
Part I. origins of China's political corruption: political-economy, self-appointed government and development in light of history and globalization
(George Zhibin Gu is an author of several new books on China and globalization, including: China's global reach, China and the new world order, and Made in China)
It has been interesting to read the comments by WAISers on Confucius and other classic Chinese writings. To me, there is a great need to study the circumstances in which these ideas emerged.

Franklin was born amidst the flames and terrors of the infamous race riots that consumed Tulsa, Oklahoma, once the center of Black wealth and business success. The papers and even books called it a race riot, but it was actually an anti-Black pogrom by state and private racists in envy of Black Tulsa's achievements.
John Hope Franklin: The Passing of a Griot
[col. writ. 3/29/09] (c) '09 Mumia Abu-Jamal
For historians of every stripe, the name John Hope Franklin (1915-2009) is one that cannot be ignored. This is, in part, because he was past president of the American Historical Association ((AHA), a group of American scholars that has been in existence since 1884.
