Demonstration commemorating the 63rd anniversary of the Nakba (Catastrophe), the Israeli expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland. Video of the demonstration. The Guardian examines the reception that Netanyahu received in Congress and the dilemma posed for those who support Israel, but want to see the occupation resolved in a way that's fair to everybody.
We began the action by unscrolling the
very lengthy chronology of Israeli-Palestinian relations since 1948. This was directly opposite Philadelphia's Israeli consulate. All photos in this photostory were taken by

After the US failed tremendously in all their "efforts" to bring peace to
Palestine, and latest even approved Israel's new settlement activities, no
Palestinian will be enabled to trust in the erroneous statements the
Secretary of State of the United States has made lately and will further
do.
Since now almost two decades, the US-Government ployed the successive
Palestinian leaders to accept without any condition ever to "make peace" as
required by Israel. At the same time the US were aiming to bring the
opposite parties around the table for subject negotiations, they delivered
heavy weapons and almost abolished ammunition (cluster bombs, phosphor
grenades, etc...) to its nearest middle-east ally, Israel.
Moreover, what is said during press conferences and what is said behind
closed doors lays in diametric opposition. It must be considered as a fact,
that the US have absolutely no interest of bringing peace to the
middle-east. One hard to deny reason is the US military industry, that has

Will Jazz Hands Persuade Fresh Grocer to De-shelve Israeli Hummus?
The Philly BDS Coalition dances into action in a local grocery store chain to push them to deshelve Sabra and Tribe hummus; both brands support Israeli war crimes. This marks the launch of our campaign: www.phillybds.org

Abbas is a duplicitous traitor
Palestinian Authority Traitors Serving Israel - by Stephen Lendman
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' duplicitous treachery exposes him as an enemy, not ally, of his people. An earlier article on him quoted Jeffrey Blankfort calling him a "double agent (serving) his Israeli and US masters in plain sight." In June 2003, Edward Said called him "Israel's sheriff," saying he's "colorless, moderately corrupt, and without any clear ideas of his own, except that he wants to please the white man," his Washington and bosses. South African activists describe this flagrant assault as Israel’s Sharpeville, referring to the 1960 massacre in South Africa that marked a turning point in international support of anti-apartheid resistance.

Gaza's horrific conditions under siege
OCHA's Special Focus on Occupied Palestine - by Stephen Lendman
On June 9, McClatchy and other publications revealed some of what's rarely, if ever, acknowledged in the press - that Israel's blockade of Gaza is "economic warfare," not for security as most commonly reported, based on an Israeli document the Gisha Legal Center for Freedom of Movement's lawsuit obtained.
Gisha's director, Sari Bashi, said the document shows the siege is collective punishment, in violation of Fourth Geneva's Article 33 stating:
"No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited."

Efforts to End the Catastrophe Last month marked 62 years since Al-Nakba ensued with the founding of Israel. Palestinians have now entered the 63rd year of displacement, oppression, death and occupation. Thousands of people marched in Palestine on April 21 commemorating the tragedy that began when more than 750,000 people were forced off their land and into refugee camps in Gaza, the West Bank, and neighboring countries, denied forever, if Israel has its way, a right of return. The day passed without notice in the U.S.
