Any good video producer knows that good audio is just as important, if not more important, than good video. Viewers will forgive a bad shot before they will forgive inaudible audio. This workshop will look at important considerations for recording audio in field productions, including choosing the proper gear for your projects. Learn how to properly pin a lavaliere mic, and how to use hand held and shotgun mics. We’ll also show you how to capture and edit audio in an editing program. Bring any audio related question you may have and our knowledgeable instructor will help you!

Whether you’re a seasoned video producer or you’re buying a video camera for the first time, this workshop is a must! This two session workshop will have you up and running in no time.

In the first session, MiND instructors will teach you how your personal camera works and show you how to properly setup for various production scenarios. Learn about focus, white balance, the rule of thirds, exposure and much, much more. After you learn how your camera works, we’ll send you home for a week with a homework assignment. You’ll be required to shoot 10 examples of "good" shots and 10 examples of "bad" shots- you must be able to explain why the shots are good and why they are bad.
