Military and civil authorities will have their hands full at Franklin Mills Mall on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Plans call for activists to begin gathering as early as 11:00 am. Throughout the day, we will keep a vigil at the intersection of Knights Road and Woodhaven Road, located between the church and the AEC. We simply ask demonstrators to engage in nonviolent means of expressing their outrage. 13 year-olds are being taught to kill by the U.S. Army at mall.

Participants will be instructed on the plans for the day and will be given cell phone numbers to keep in constant contact with demonstration organizers. There is no lead organizer or committee designated to work with civil and military authorities. We will have trained legal observers with us throughout the day.

The plan to build Army Experience Centers across the country is part of a larger scheme to develop a "Warrior Caste" in America. Join us on September 12th at Franklin Mills Mall.
Teaching 13 year-old children military tactics through the use of video games at the local shopping mall may sound like a completely novel idea, but the concept of training and indoctrinating 13 year-olds to join a warrior caste has been around since very early times. The ancient Chinese, Indians and Japanese began indoctrinating youth at 13. We know from the Greek historian Thucydides who lived 2,500 years ago, boys in Sparta were cultivated and supervised by military officials like the modern day military recruiters and educational specialists.
The children of Sparta were drilled in battle using knives and swords.

Matthis Chiroux won his case! He will not return to the battlefield in Iraq.
Yesterday was a great victory for me, the entire peace movement and for troops and civilians all over the world. I faced the military for my refusal to deploy to Iraq, and I walked away a free man with a general discharge from the Army’s Individual Ready Reserve.
This does not affect my discharge from Active Duty Service, however, which is the term of enlistment from which my G.I. Bill does derive. My benefits are mine, and I will use them to attain education, as all people have the right to do and should not have to fight in any armies to realize.

In our February 23rd feature story, we at PhillyIMC took a look at the new hi-tech way the Army was using to recruit new soldiers. Bill Perry has submitted an update to that.
