“Unity Day On The Parkway” for August 23, 2009 must reschedule the Unity Day Event for 2010, due to Clear Channel and the City of Philadelphia creating interference and delay. Preparation for Unity Day 2010 is moving forward without delay.

UNITY-DAY-SM.jpg

“Unity Day On The Parkway” would like to inform the many citizens that have supported bringing Unity Day back to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for August 23, 2009 - that due to Clear Channel’s and the City of Philadelphia intermingling into the scheduled Event, we must reschedule the Unity Day Event for 2010 because of this interference and delay.

We have fought a hard battle in a short time to bring recognition to Unity Day being a Community sponsored annual Philadelphia Event.

Clear Channel’s local radio station: WDAS 105.3 FM, attempted to let Unity Day perish when it announced cancellation of the Annual Event on June 3, 2009 with no anticipated revival of the annual event in the near future.

This August 6 – Sunday, August 9, we converge upon Philadelphia, the disgusting home to the bombing of the MOVE Organization, the framing of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the capture of Russell Shoatz, the framing of the MOVE 9, and the murder of Erica Keels.

For more details and updates on the conference please visit http://www.illvox.org or email APOC-Philly [at] riseup [dot] net

No doubt in the days since we last gathered together as APOC (Autonomous / Anarchist / Anti-Authoritarian People of Color), much has changed for each of us. We’ve each experienced new joys and grieves, up and downs. Across the vastness of this metropolitan wasteland, new bonds have been built, old bonds strengthened. In surviving, even thriving against the transgressions perpetrated by those who would see us torn apart, we’ve developed both as individuals and as a movement.

Below is the Newsletter for the past week. Since AOL , Yahoo, and Hotmail block emails with certain words, or beyond so much capacity, I have chosen to post the news articles under the different headings and list them on different web pages.
