Haven't read anything by Camille Paglia for a long time. Haven't missed a thing! Couple of items worth going over in any event.
Camille Paglia produces an amazingly incoherent essay, with "facts" she appears to have pulled straight ot of her butt:
But John McCain ...was... a candidate of personal honor ...
Uh, really? I thought his campaign was the absolute pits and about as "honorable" as a road race from the 1979 movie "Mad Max."

There is a great piece from a Republican who was for McCain until McCain picked Sarah Palin, he gave permission a CapitolHillBlue to copy it around the Internet,

Palin thought the Vice President debate was a popularity contest, and at that she won big, because Biden was debating who should be the next President. Most people who disagree with her hate her less, and she has created a new image of what it means to be an American woman, a Barbie Doll with a Gun in her hand. The 60's asserted that men could be tender and cry just like a woman, and now ultraconservatives hope the 60's are finally over. http://www.capitolhillblue.com/cont/node/11490
Madonna a role model for young girls upset them greatly. This Barbie Doll image could spread to men as well.

I am trying to form “Pro-Lifers Against Sarah Palin’s Extremism”. I would have liked to just call this organization “Pro-Lifers Against Extremism”. However when one Googgles, Pro-Lifers Against Extremism” Libertarians for Life, a group that worries about rape victims’ rights but not about the rights of a women who suddenly feel they are enslaved with a baby after her Prince Charming turns into a monster,

Publications like the Philadelphia Tribune, the first US Black Paper, had expressed pride that a Black woman was Secretary of State and earlier pride that Colin Powell had the job. But never expressed appreciation that a black man, Clarence Thomas was on the Supreme Court. Likewise Progressive Hispanic groups never expressed pride that a Hispanic, Gonzales, was Attorney General. I assumed the difference was that they are more extreme than Powell and Rice, until I was shocked to discover that some women who call themselves pro-choice and privacy, were nevertheless proud that a women, Sarah Palin is McCain’s Vice Presidental running mate, and felt personally insulted, when comments similar to those hurled at Thomas were hurled at her, What is going on?
One difference is Thomas in particular never claimed to represent black Americans and Gonzales hides any Hispanic acce

Some who are pro-life and religious would be appalled to see a woman who was raped, forcibly enslaved to a child she may associate with the enemy, who made her pregnant. Some want a Constitutional Amendment for prayer in schools, who nevertheless find the Sarah Palin’s claim that US troops are fighting for God in Iraq to be offensive. Some people are uncomfortable if they have a Black boss, but don’t quit their job, and if they work for a small struggling company and the next in line seems quite incompetent, then they wouldn’t do anything to encourage their boss to leave, and thus might vote for Obama, fearing McCain’s wars might lead to a currency collapse and a severe depression.
