MANILA, Philippines — Akbayan party-list Representative Walden Bello on Tuesday dared President-elect Benigno Aquino III to reverse his mother’s neo-liberal policies that he said have killed Philippine agriculture and industry.
At the public forum on the Campaign for Life of Dignity for All, Bello said among these policies is on debt, which the incoming president has promised during the election campaign to repudiate.
“It is urgent for the next administration to declare a debt moratorium. We’ve paid that debt so many times…He (Aquino) favors debt repudiation. He said so during the campaign,” he said.
“Now we have to make him live up to his campaign promise. Did he make this out of the needs of the campaign? I don’t think so. I think he realizes that he has to undo this legacy of his mother of automatic debt payment,” he added.

The January 12 earthquake in Haiti that devastated the capital city, leaving well over 100,000 dead and a million homeless, was one of the worst geological calamities of modern times. The earthquake was a natural disaster, but the horrendous death toll and monumental destruction were caused by capitalism and imperialism. Now the human suffering has been enormously compounded by to the militarization of the relief effort and reoccupation of Haiti by the United States. More than a dozen flights by aid groups, carrying rescue squads, tons of medical supplies and entire field hospitals, were refused permission to land at the Port-au-Prince airport by U.S. military air controllers who are now in charge. Food was already stocked in warehouses, but agencies refused to distribute it for fear of "riots." The media blitz is a propaganda war to embellish the image of U.S. imperialism. This phony humanitarianism are being used to disguise a new U.S. occupation of Haiti. We demand an end to the imperialist occupation, U.S./U.N. forces get out of Haiti and stop blocking entry of Haitian refugees.

Checking in on what the right wing is up to NOW (They're always up to SOMETHING)
Jerome Corsi claims on WorldNetDaily that President Obama's e-e-evil-l-l plan for world domination, or at least domination of the US, a country that he became president of about a year ago, has three critical elements that Obama's organization of e-e-evil-l-l-l henchmen (ACORN) is following:

Let’s show the trickle down theory the door. If a goodly majority ever faces economic reality, we could fashion a better world. It is however the wealthy that will have to sacrifice.
The present state of affairs stems from the system. This status quo -if you will-will not change for the egalitarian good appreciably until we rid ourselves of the utter insanity of free market capitalism. Feeding money to fat cats creating more debt for the present and future generations will not solve our economic problems. And, what’s more, the measure of an economy is the extent to which it provides the general populous with food, clothing, shelter, quality of life, medical care and such; not the extent to which it creates profit for the wealthiest 1-2 %, which is what the corporate controlled Zionist controlled media feeds us with its constant drumbeat of lies. .

Correcting our political perspective
The following is intended as a friendly bit of helpful advice to those down on their luck Trots who call themselves the ‘fourth international'. It has been my experience over the years that even a murky and slightly muddle headed Trot is still heads and tails above everyone else in this place, which isn't saying much for everyone else. It has been my habit to consult a Trot from the Fourth International while always taking everything with a grain of salt, such that I never consult a Trot without making sure I am packing a salt shaker. However given the gravity of the current social crisis, I am no longer willing to tolerate carrying around a salt shaker, and so I thought that instead I would write this critique of the Fourth International.
Where to start?

The financial crisis that has been heating up since early 2007 reached the boiling point in late September. Credit markets virtually stopped functioning. A full-blown panic swept stock markets worldwide. The U.S. economy is in the throes of a recession that could turn into a Depression lasting for years. In these dire straits, the Wall Street speculators who set off this crisis are demanding that the government rescue them with a bailout priced at $700 billion. The actual costs will be far higher, a trillion dollars or more. Meanwhile, the Democrats are pushing hardest for the Bush bailout of the banks. Presidential candidate Barack Obama blames "greed" for the crisis on Wall Street (capitalism without greed?) and says there must be no "blank check to Washington" -- meaning he's for putting in a few conditions as window dressing. Following in the Democrats' footsteps, the AFL-CIO labor bureaucrats called a demo for "No Blank Check for Wall Street." Yet no amount of regulation will stop the boom-bust cycle of capitalism. Meanwhile unemployment lines are growing and a million families were thrown out of their homes by bank foreclosures in the last year. While the fat cats, Democrats and bureaucrats are all going for the Bush bailout to prop up U.S. capitalism, revolutionary Marxists oppose this trillion-dollar giveaway to the Wall Street speculators, calling instead for a program of transitional demands leading to the expropriation of the banks and the entire bourgeoisie through workers revolution.

The financial crisis deepens with the nationalization of IndyMac and the likely bailout of Freddie Mac and Fannie May by the US taxpayer. The financial crisis has company as inflation, and in particular huge increases in global food and energy prices, enters the fray.
The American economic model has been discredited and the American century has lasted but a few decades. These developments have and will further open up a new period in the struggle between capital and labor on the world stage and the US working class will have a major role to play as it re-connects with its militant traditions.

Since September 3rd, 2007, Henry Okah, a respected youth leader and so called “silent player” in the Niger Delta struggle was arrested in Angola on his way back to Nigeria from South Africa. The Angolan government, likely at the behest of the Nigerian government and the multi-national oil companies operating in Nigeria, detained Mr. Okah and his fellow traveler (Capt. Edward Atatah), under dubious pretexts. These included the possession of “incriminating literature”, gunrunning and the sponsoring of a coup attempt in Equatorial Guinea. Due to the absurdity of the manufactured cases, the charges were eventually thrown out of Angolan court.
