Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu-Jamal however, are so much more than political prisoners in ‘America.’ Their three decades-long wrongful imprisonment represents the very heart and soul of ongoing hypocrisy, racism, and growing injustice in this nation. Mumia Abu-Jamal and Leonard Peltier are not simply names to banter about. As with many other political prisoners in this country, these two cases represent the collective barometer that indicate the utter and dismal failure of the judiciary and politicos of this nation to “change” their ways and come to their human senses.
News from North Dakota, today, is that Leonard Peltier's parole has been denied. He won't receive another full parole hearing until 2024, at the age of 79 years.
As sad as we all are, we are steadfast, undefeated. We will not go away. We will not be quiet.Take a moment to reflect. Just a moment. But then put your disappointment behind you. Gather your strength. There's much work to be done.
"When you begin a great work you can't expect to finish it all at once; therefore, you and your brothers [and sisters] press on and let nothing discourage you until you have entirely finished what you have begun."--Teedyuschung, Delaware

In spite of scorching temps and humidity, there were several hundred people who attended and waited for several hours until attorney Eric Seitz came out and addressed the crowd. He said the FBI did not have anything new to say but that he was able to present some additional evidence on Leonard's behalf to the board. Leonard spoke with the board and answered questions for 1-1/2 hours. The hearing officer said he would look over his documentation and make a recommendation within 24-48 hours, at which time the parole board has up to 3 weeks to make a final determination. Leonard has expressed his thanks for all of the efforts made on his behalf today. Eric Seitz said he feels "optimistic."

As we know, Leonard has had a scare with prostate cancer. He is now having blood in his urine and he desperately needs to have an oncologist examine him. A general practitioner operating in the prison system is not sufficient; he needs to be seen by a specialist.
Please ask the warden at Lewisburg Prison to give Leonard Peltier
the proper medical attention he has the right to.
