Summary:
Philadelphia City Council meets tomorrow and again will
take up local budget cuts. Be at City Hall at 9:30am to
pack this meeting. On Monday, Dec. 15th - support effort
of Philly firemen who will be marching on city hall
against threatened closure of fire stations.

Despite the rain and the short notice, we had a great turn
out for the Bank of America picket tonight at 16th & JFK
in solidarity with the Chicago UE workers sitting down at
Republic Windows & Doors to demand their rights.
Over 20 people came out, with handmade signs and banners
and a lot of enthusiasm! We had the chance to talk about
next steps in case there is an effort to stop the UE
struggle.
Five hundred fliers were handed out. Got lot's of honks in
response to our signs. Nearly all the passing cab drivers
rolled down windows to take fliers!
We heard from subscribers to our list who were glad
someone called this action - and we want to thank you all
for responding!! This is an important struggle and it's
not over yet.
