The Notebook has continuing coverage of this story. Heidi Ramirez resigned from the School Reform Commission late afternoon on August 19, at the close of a four-hour meeting, declaring in a prepared statement that her expectations about the oversight role of the body were not shared by others and that she felt she could do more "to improve teaching and learning for our most needy students" from work outside the SRC.
Go bye, see ya, be well some where else. I have had contact and observed her before during and after meetings. Her attitude and attention span seems short to the parents and other folks that wanted a few minutes of her time, or her ear to listen to their view aor to answer a question.
The SRC is a big clog in the wheel. They are charged with keeping a eye on the overall budget. Any checks that are written over $25 k has to be approved by the SRC.
So if my company wanted to provide goods or services if it is below $25k it could be approved without the SRC approval.
