Local journalists Betsey Piette and John Kalwaic report on the Wednesday December 10th demonstration at the main Bank of America in Philadelphia near City Hall at 16th and JFK. The crowd had gathered to protest both the government sponsored bailout of Bank of America as well as the fact that this bank did not help out the laid-off workers of Republic Windows and Doors.
Dave Lindorff writes: "We workers of America, white collar, pink collar, blue collar, and no collar at all, have just gotten a wonderful example of the power of having a union. It’s an example that should have every unorganized employee in America looking for a union organizer."

Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase will loan Republic's owners $1.75 million which can only be used to pay the workers. They'll receive 8 weeks severance pay plus back pay and earned vacation time - and two months paid health insurance.
The workers left the factory they had occupied since Friday chanting "Yes We Did!"
Very cool
