On Sunday, October 26th at 6:30pm, the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement is leading a protest at the World Series at Citizens Bank Park to let the world know that there is open season in Philadelphia where the police have been given license to kill young African men.
The Philadelphia police killed 22 people in 2006; 15 people in 2007 and have already killed 9 people this year, most recently Michael "Butchie" Johnson on Tuesday Oct 21st in West Philadelphia. On September 23rd, Philadelphia police murdered Denill Giddings, whose Grand-mother demands justice, saying, "My grandson wasn't a 'menace to society,' he was a good man. He was a son, a father, and he didn't deserve to be shot down by the cops!"
Protest organizer Diop Olugbala -- the man who led the Uhuru Movement's internationally televised protest at Obama's rally demanding 'What about the black community, Obama?' -- says, "African people are tired of seeing their family members murdered by the police, and are getting organized to resist these conditions, and expose the true relationship between the police and the black community."
The protest at the World Series is in coordination with a similar protest at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on October 22nd and 23rd, which drew attention to the killing of four young African men by the St. Petersburg police.
The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement in Philadelphia is demanding justice and reparations to the families and communities of victims of police murder, including Denill Giddings, shot to death by Philadelphia Police on September 23rd, 2008.

Submitted by Jeff (not verified) on Thu, 12/04/2008 - 11:40amI love how the second comment implies a racist tempo behind the previous statement when you called him a "honkey" which is hardly an offensive term. If black people were so opposed the the word nigger it wouldn't bbe said in the majority of rap songs and by the African American youth. Instead of demanding appologies and retractions maybe you should demand more of your people and culture.
