Saturday, October 4, 1PM - 3PM, PEACE in SPACE Demonstration: Stopping Lockheed Martin, Star Wars & the Militarization of Space, as part of the October 4 -12 Keep Space for Peace Week: International Days
of Protest to Stop the Militarization of Space, www.space4peace.org.  Lockheed Martin, the world largest weapons producing corporation and the Iraq War's chief weapons profiteer, also sits atop the list of top ballistic missile defense ("Star Wars") contractors and producers of nuclear and space weaponry. 

The October 4th demonstration, part of the Brandywine Peace Community's ongoing campaign of nonviolent resistance to Lockheed Martin, marks the start of a series of demonstrations and protest vigils at the Lockheed Martin weapons complex in Valley Forge that will culminate with a  Martin Luther King Day of Nonviolent Resistance, Noon, Monday, January 19, 2009, the day before the next Presidential Inauguration.

On Saturday, November 29, 1PM - 3PM, the Brandywine Peace Community will hold a Thanksgiving Weekend "LOCKHEED-VILLE: where the profits of war matter (and people don't)!"
Shanty Vigil, illustrating unmet human needs resulting from Lockheed Martin's war profits; and  on Monday, December 22, beginning at 7PM, the group will hold a Christmas/Chanukah Candlelight Vigil for Peace.
