As the 2nd part of the Brandywine Peace Community's annual obervance of the anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, August 6 - 9, 1945, the decades old peace activist group will hold a Nagasaki Day Peace Dedication on Saturday, August 9, 11AM, in front of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cathedral, 18th & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA. The Nagasaki Day Peace Dedication is being co-sponsored by the Phila. Catholic Peace Fellowship On August 9, 1945,at 11:02a.m., the Urakami Roman Catholic Cathedral was ground zero for the world's second atomic bombing which destroyed at the time the largest Catholic city in all of Asia. On August 6, beginnning at 8a.m., the Brandywine Peace Community will hold a Hiroshima Day Demonstration and Nonviolent Civil Disobedience at the Lockheed Martin weapons complex in King of Prussia, PA (behind the King of Prussia Mall). The theme of the times of Remembrance and Resistance is "End the War, Stop Nuclear Weapons, Resist Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin is the world's largest weapons corporation, the U.S.'s chief nuclear weapons contractor, and the Iraq War's chief weapons profiteer.
