In Philadelphia and cities around the country, the number of homeless persons is rising. So far in this campaign, the presidential candidates from both parties have failed to realistically address homelessness and severe poverty that affect thousands in our city and millions around the country. Lets say loud and clear that without a meaningful investment from the federal government, we cannot make real progress in combating homelessness in Philadelphia. We are inviting all the candidates to attend, or to send a representative, and to share with us their commitment to spend some time on the streets for a night to better understand the struggles of homeless men and women.
