Woo-hoo!! House bill to bring FISA into line with Constitution passes!!

House of Representatives passes amendment to the 1978 FISA Act that rejects telecom company immunity and which protects Constitutional rights in other ways.




Final vote was 217 Yeas and 197 Nays. As emptywheel puts it Blue Dogs come home and decide NOT to vote with the Republicans!

The left blogosphere's battle cry for 2006 was "More Democrats," this year, it's "Better Democrats!" This is an excellent start!
