2007 Was Second Warmest Year on Record ..... Although

The Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) has released its report showing last year tied with 1998 as the second warmest year just behind 2005.
This is in spite of the fact that "solar irradiance is at a minimum and the equatorial Pacific Ocean is in the cool phase of its natural El Nino - La Nina cycle".
What that means is that last year would have broken the record quite remarkably under normal conditions.

Submitted by rich (not verified) on Sat, 01/19/2008 - 9:45pmhmm, can't think of any term less respectful than "global warming skeptics," though I'm sure there's some equivalent to "tinfoil hat crowd," but anyway, if global warming skeptics had anything other than grants from oil companies to spread disinformation with, they could come up with better challenges than "Yeah? So's your mom! Pfpfpth!!"
