++ Mar 15: Oxford-educated professor M.A. Rafey
Habib of the English Department at Rutgers
University-Camden brings us more poetry, this time
by various Urdu poets in English translation. A
rare treat, this sort of programming appears at
very few spots on your dial. Prof. Habib speaks as

++ Mar 22: "On Saturday, February 25, from
2:00 to 3:30 p.m., Bridge of Peace [Community Church
at Yorkship & Tuckahoe Roads, Fairview, Camden]
hosts Dr. Olaf Foerster, a German doctor who provides
primary medical care in a very rural area of Kenya.
We met Dr. Foerster at the recent mission developers'
conference in Orlando, Florida, and were so
impressed with his vision and his passion for
ministry, that we invited him to come to Camden.
He will share his dream for a medical clinic and a
new church during [this] presentation".

++ Apr 5: "Let Children be Children: Lewis Wickes
Hine’s Crusade Against Child Labor" is the title of
a photography exhibit at the Stedman Gallery on the
Rutgers-Camden campus from March 13 thru May 6.
Sociologist Lewis Wickes Hine's (American,
1874-1940) photography captured his concern for
children, immigrants and the working-class. The
exhibition of 55 prints offers a revealing look at
child labor practices at the onset of American
industrialization and the circumstances that poor
working children endured well into the late 1930's.
The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Rutgers Camden
Center for Children and Childhood Studies. This
Life-Net Radio episode covers the opening reception
and gallery talk.
WITH ADDITIONAL PRODUCTION WORK BY:
Dr. Jon Van Til's Non-Governmental Organization class
at Rutgers University-Camden. (not yet confirmed)

++ Apr 19: In early March, I attended a lecture at
Rutgers-Camden in which longtime activist Frank
Fulbrook argued that if you want to get rid of
open-air drug markets, you should switch from
prohibiting drugs to regulating and taxing them. The
speech reminded me of some of what N J Weedman has
said on our show, so naturally I got curious about
what would happen if I brought Fulbrook and Weedman
together. In this episode, you and I both hear the
result.

Life-Net Radio needs your support -- not in the form
of donations, but in the form of your own
participation, or your sponsorship of somebody else.
Or you could even sponsor an air slot and simply give
us a topic or angle -- or an event to cover. Any of
these options makes you a Life-Net Radio guest
executive producer (no experience and little effort
needed) with full creative control.

Life-Net Radio, its editor/host Ret Z, and WTMR Camden
do not necessarily agree with, believe in, or endorse
anything you will hear in any episode. If you think
LNR's mix of voices is unbalanced, wrong, or
offensive, you can help "correct" it, by taking an air
share yourself or by sponsoring someone else you agree
with: lifenetradio@broadcast.net
On LNR, one side prevails only when others choose
silence.
