With less than one week to go before activists converge in Philadelphia
for June 18-21 events countering the Biotechnology Industry
Organization (BIO) ---

The BioDemocracy Mobilization needs YOUR hands...

To help us create inspiring ART that will bring our message to the public. During this week, we have Open Studios at SPIRAL Q PUPPET THEATER (3114 Spring Garden St, 2nd floor) to create art, banners, signs and giant mobile puppets. Please help us!! Join us at these times: Sunday, June 12, 12 noon to 5 pm; and June 13, 14 and 16, 5:30 to 9 pm. Whether you have fancy art skills or not, come to Spiral Q! Help us express our alternatives to the biotech industry: a vision of fair trade, local food sovereignty, healthcare for all, community power, honest science and biodiversity. Experienced artists will be present to guide our work -- this is a great way to meet new friends and learn new skills!

Through its puppet parades and pageants, Spiral Q Puppet Theater is
resurrecting and reclaiming an almost forgotten form of people's
theater to amplify and unite the power and vitality of those working for change through art-making, protest, and civic theater.

The BioDemocracy Teach-In -- featuring internationally reknowned
speakers such as Ignacio Chapela, Anuradha Mittal, Percy Schmeiser, Medea
Benjamin and Brian Tokar -- will take place in the Friends Center on June 18 and 19, 2 to 9:30 pm. For a full teach-in schedule, please see:
