August 1st Arrests - Eyewitness Report
One by one, four women were carried off of a police van and into a School District of Philadelphia school bus at 12th and Market 6:45 PM today. Seven policeman outside the bus and at least 20 more on either side of Market milled about as two women officers and three male officers inside put latex gloves on, lubricated them and proceeded to search the women arrested. After a few minutes a viscous black substance inside a small plastic bag was displayed to the officers outside. "Stand up, stand up. Stand up for your rights" was shouted as a mantra by a black woman taken into custody. Among the many onlookers was a man wearing a 17th District of Philadelphia polo shirt who inspired by the shouting protester proceeded to mock her and waive a Justice for Daniel Faulkner button at her. As the schoolbus departed he was seen shaking hands with the policemen and women and handing out cards with the url: http://www.cloningeinstein.com
Policemen at the scene had no comment. In fact, police seemed very disturbed that I was talking into a cell phone and reporting the situation. A block down the street a marron econoline van was searched surrounded by police cars.
