Action Alert for Nelson Gonzalez Another assault at Fayette, prisoner's life in danger: Take action Now Nelson Gonzalez #FQ0274, a state prisoner at SCI Fayette, has been physically assaulted at least twice in the last month according to several prisoner reports submitted to HRC/Fed Up! and Mr. Gonzalez's mother. When Nelson's mother attempted to visit him in a few weeks ago she was ordered off the property and has had her visits indefinitely suspended by Superintendent Brian Coleman.
Prisoners expressed fear for Mr. Gonzalez's life in letters sent to HRC/Fed Up! and Nelson's mother last week.
On May 20th guards under the command of Captain Wallace Leggett attacked Gonzalez with mace. Since then he has been denied medical care and other necessities, and prisoner reports claim he has failed to respond to several calls.
The situation is urgent!

3)-Inform SCI Fayette that the state police have been contacted.
Call the State Police at Belle Vernon Station: 724-929-6262; 560 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon, PA 15012-9654
1)-Request that they immediately dispatch an investigator to check into the situation. Stress that Mr. Gonzalez's life is reportedly in danger and that they need to see him personally today.
2)-Tell them that this matter should not be referred to the Department of Corrections' Office of Professional Responsibility due to the consistent failure of OPR to address criminal abuse by DOC staff. The state police need to intervene by visiting the prison and conducting a legitimate investigation, interviewing prisoner witnesses, guards, and securing security camera footage.
