Gay Pride Parade draws Vets, Peaceniks

Second annual Gay Pride Parade with emphasis on the peace-supporting veterans, both gay and straight. The Inky put out a good story on us in their local section. A YouTube shot by a local person. Our videographer noted thankfully that the rain waited until after the parade to start falling! Local bloggers contributes thoughts and observations about parade.

R.W. Dennen was our organizer. He decided "Philadelphia needs a big, colorful, gay pride parade that includes all the peace veterans!" And so it happened last year. We all enjoyed the experience so much, we went for a sequel this year.
We had all the groups and factions join in.

And a cheerleader squad, too!

The Joe Sestak for Senator campaign joined in.

There's our heroic organizer (In the fatigue cap).

Bill Perry blows "Taps"
As R.W. looks on (R.W. began the opening ceremony by blowing on the Boatswain's whistle).
One of our floats.

Our cheerleader squad did its thing.
The march fet much less hemmed in once we got to Market St.

Here's the head of our veteran's contingent.

And still more of us.

Very large, cheerful, supportive crowds throughout! All kinds of support! Good times!
Extra! FUMCOG contingent!
The First United Methodist Church of Germantown is a "Reconciling Ministry," which means everybody is welcome!

The crowd speak for itself
