Open to all young people ages 11 to 19. We offer scholarship support, based on need. Please call us at 215 222 4201 for more information. Learn how to produce a live radio show and how to think critically, experiment with digital technologies, and express yourself through community radio. Learn how a radio studio works, from running the board, planning a show, being a host and DJ, producing short news spots, interviewing guests in the studio, field and studio recording to working with Audacity, the audio editing program. The workshop culminates in a two-hour radio broadcast on WPEB 88.1 FM, a new community radio station for West Philadelphia, with students performing every role.

CO-INSTRUCTORS: Clayton Ruley, graduated from Bloomsburg University (2002) with a degree in Political Science and Mass Communications. He has been a journalist, columnist, and sports editor and host of his own radio show. In 2002 he helped to found GeoClan and GeoClan.com.

Norman “Bob” Green grew up in Philly writing poems and rhymes. As a preteen and teenager he participated in a panel group on Sundays and hosted a radio show on community radio station WPEB 88.1 in its earlier incarnation, where he learned how to produce, engineer and DJ. He is also a song writer, music producer and founding member of Geoclan.
