October 2009 marks the eighth anniversary of the U.S. war in Afghanistan and the seventh anniversary of the congressional vote authorizing war in Iraq. Analysts now project the cost of the two wars at $2.4 Trillion.
More than 90% of Lockheed Martin's income and profits come from the wages of war. Lockheed Martin annually receives more than $32 billion in weapons-related contracting and war production, making it the world's largest war profiteer and the center of the U.S. corporate war economy.
