Basic tools can transform your speaking into art. Creative Speech goes
beyond the technicalities of public speaking. Public speaking might help you
to get your content across. But words are living works of art, with bodies
and souls. Meaning is the soul; sound is the body. Creative Speech builds a
lively body for your speech, so the meaning can shine through. We will start
with movement exercises to warm up, and then soak up two poems by osmosis,
which are as different as can be.
We will learn by doing, with movement, stepping, throwing a ball, etc. I'll
also be listening to find out what kind of workshops you'd like me to teach
in the future. Storytelling, poetry, or drama? For you, is it about
speaking from the heart at your Quaker meeting, or making a business
presentation? Or do you just want to feel confident standing your ground
with words? All the support we need is in the sounds and rhythms of the

There is no charge but donations are welcome, and 30% will go to A-Space,

Creative Speech comes from Rudolf Steiner's work on speech and drama, which
began in 1919 and has been developed by hundreds of speech artists
throughout the world since then. Steiner also originated Waldorf Schools
and Biodynamic Farming, among other disciplines. I graduated from a
four-year training at Artemis School of Speech and Drama in England. Their
