Witness for Peace Mid-Atlantic Annual Retreat
Join together with activists and organizers from around the Mid-Atlantic this May 14 - 16 for what promises to be an exciting and powerful weekend of change-making.
Stay through Monday, May 17th, for a day of lobbying and direct actions in support of the TRADE Act to reverse U.S. free trade policies and HR 2567 to cut funding to the School of the Americas/WHINSEC.
Our featured speaker will be Rodolfo Pastor de Maria y Campos, member of DC-based Hondurans for Democracy. Rodolfo lives in the U.S. in exile, after working in the Honduran embassy in DC before and during the coup that ousted democratically-elected President Manuel Zelaya last June. Rodolfo will share with us an update from the resistance movement in Honduras and discuss how we can work in solidarity from here in the U.S.
Other workshops include leading experts on the prospects for immigration and trade policy reform, closing the School of the Americas, and activist skillshares on multicultural organizing and incorporating the arts into your activism.
You can download the flyer for the retreat here.
