“Recognizing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and Addiction in Veterans” will be the topic of a talk on Tues., Nov. 9, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, 252 W. Swamp Rd., Suite 12, Doylestown.
Kevin Medican, a psychotherapist and a volunteer for PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization–Achieving Community Together), will review the signs and symptoms of post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and addiction, examine the prevalence of these problems in returning veterans, and discuss how the conditions are interrelated and why two or more of the conditions often occur together. The program will also address resources for veterans and their families who are facing these issues.
The program is free, and the community is invited to attend. Pre-registration is required. To register, visit www.proact.org or call Noni West at 215-345-6644.
