MOSAIC Open Mic (the A-Space Open Mic is back—this month on a new night) This month’s featured performers are Danie Ocean Danie Ocean is a singer/songwriter from Philadelphia. She has been playing at some of the most premier music venues (such as World Cafe Live, the TIni Angel, and Chris' Jazz Cafe) for over 7 years. Her sound is a parchwork quilt of urban soul, sulty jazz, and catchy pop. And Omar Omar comes to Philadelphia by way of Buffalo NY. He began playing guitar while living in Copenhagen. He has performed domestically as well in Europe at venues such as the Kimmel Center and the Joseph Papp Public Theatre in NYC. Omar’s influences range from Roberta Flack to Bob Marley. His smooth delivery and soulful depth is what separates him from other vocalists. His warm tones seem to melt troubles away. By day he is an elementary art teacher with the Philadelphia public school system. Bring your poems, stories, songs, rants, etc. for the open mic.
