Demonstration opposing John Yoo as Inquirer Columnist
"Keep John Yoo off the pages of the Inquirer. Terminate his contract immediately"
May 20 at 5:00 PM at Philadelphia Inquirer’s building at 400 North Broad Street in Philadelphia

Last Wednesday, we heard the unbelievable news that the Philadelphia Inquirer has hired John Yoo as a columnist. Yoo is the infamous author of the legal opinions that gave Bush legal cover to authorize torture.

Many people have taken action by writing to the Inquirer to say that torture apologists like Yoo have no place on the payroll of a daily newspaper.

So far the Inquirer has not replied to any letters, so we’re taking the action to their doorstep.
On Wednesday, May 20 at 5:00 we’ll be gathering outside of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s building at 400 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.

The demonstration is being organized by Keystone Progress; The National Lawyers Guild, Philadelphia Chapter; Brandywine Peace Community and PennAction.

If you agree that torture enablers have no place on the editorial pages, please join us in telling the Philadelphia Inquirer in no uncertain terms, "Keep John Yoo off the pages of the Inquirer. Terminate his contract immediately."

Join us on Wednesday.  Bring your signs, your friends and your voices!
