Monday, January 19, Noon - MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY OF RESISTANCE to War and Lockheed Martin, Mall & Goddard Boulevards, Valley Forge/King of Prussia, PA, including nonviolent civil disobedience*. January 19 is eve of 2009 Presidential Inauguration. Hear the words and walk in the steps of Dr. King.

(*There will be a preparation/planning meeting for those willing to face arrest for civil disobedience on January 19. The meeting will be on Monday, January 12, 7p.m., at Tabernacle Church, 3700 Chestnut Street (corner of 37th & Chestnut, enter on 37th Street) in the University City section of Philadelphia). Call the Brandywine office by January 16 if you plan to participate in civil disobedience on January 19 at Lockheed Martin.)

For more than thirty years the Brandywine Peace Community has begun every year with direct action for peace honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his message of nonviolent action for justice and peace.

Lockheed Martin is the world's largest weapons maker, the Iraq War's chief weapons profiteer, as well as the U.S.'s chief nuclear weapons and space weapons contractor. The Martin Luther King Day of Nonviolent Resistance at Lockheed Martin is part of the Brandywine Peace Community's ongoing campaign challenging the world's arms giant and center of the U.S. war economy.
