The Case of the FORT DIX 5 – Justice or a Rush to a Wrongful Conviction?

event details

posted by:

begins: Apr 23, 7:00 pm

ends: Apr 23, 9:00 pm

location: Calvary Church, 801 S. 48 St, Philadelphia, PA 19143

Five young men, Muslim and immigrants, could face life in prison without parole for the charge of conspiring to attack the military base at Fort Dix, NJ in 2007. Were their convictions on Dec. 22, 2008 based on the truth, or were they entrapped by FBI informants, judged guilty by unfounded and sensational headlines, and convicted simply because of their backgrounds?

Hear:

- Hnan Duka, wife of Eljivir Duka

- Inas Shnewer, sister of Mohammed Shnewer

- Lejla Duka, daughter of Dritan Duka

- Lynne Jackson, of Project SALAM (Support And Legal Advocacy for Muslims), a national organization devoted to researching and documenting the likelihood that the United States Justice Department’s post-9/11 terrorism-related prosecutions and convictions have included a significant number of Muslims who were in fact innocent of any crime.

The sentencing hearings for the Duka brothers will be held at *9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28 at the U.S. District Court, 5th and Cooper, 4th Floor.* Serdar Tatar and Mohamed Shnewer will have their hearings the next day. Their families are asking all supporters to come and show their solidarity with these young men, guilty only of being Muslim immigrants.
