To all: First, I received an email from Derrick Jensen (co-author of Deep Green Resistance) appreciating the fact that myself and two others at Occupy D.C./Freedom Plaza want to go forth in the region and encourage radical environmental activists to come to D.C. for the Spring Offensive-Phase Two of the Occupy Movement. Feel free to email Derrick at derrick@derrickjensen.org to verify.
Second, we three good citizens at Freedom Plaza are not legally using the name "Deep Green Resistance" for any business purpose; no one associated with the DGR name needs to freak out that we are somehow scamming money using the name. We three are simply encouraging others to come to D.C. for environmental direct action. It was irresponsible for the DGR individual representative to post this condemnation of me on the Philly IMC, without checking with me beforehand. I could easily have allied his fears of his being ripped off, as we are not in fact doing that. I don't give a shit about using the DGR name...I could just as well use Earth First!, for example.
Third, I have less than $100 at present, and am asking friends of mine to fly me back to California, since there is no intelligent reason now for me to be in D.C. any further, if I am not going to organize in a radical environmental (think Earth First!/Rising Tide) sense. And by the way, Rich, let the Navy MPs know that I was at the very first Earth First! meeting in Berkeley, CA in 1980 and have been active since then. I obviously would be vindicated by any Naval court martial on charges of scamming money using the Philly IMC. I look forward to being able to continue contacting intelligent and socio-politically involved people on the Philly IMC in the future.
Fourth,it's truly insane that I have to leave the east coast now, because two irresponsible fools have interfered with my humble effort to fundraise to get we three do-gooders some travelling money to do yet more good. I am not interested in being in D.C. in the snow with inadequate gear, and running out of money. Therefore, I now wish to leave.
I assume that my Groups Before Individuals critic from the DC IMC, and the Deep Green Resistance representative, will both guarantee me that a sizeable influx of frontline green & black participants are going to show up in Washington D.C. between now and the March Spring Offensive. Whereas according to my two critics I am not of much value, I must logically insist that if this significant green & black influx does not materialize, then I am owed an apology.
Lastly, I am accepting money (preferrably wired to me at this late juncture), so that the three of us might still leave Freedom Plaza for the purpose of radical environmental organizing in the D.C. region.
