Be in Philadelphia! July 4 annual protest to demand Mumia’s freedom!

July 3rd is the day that political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal was sentenced to death for a killing he did not commit.

This year’s July 4 theme is “ancestral uprising!” featuring dramatic presentations through performances of heroic anti-slavery fighters. The protest will also include a special presentation on the year-long struggle to demand a civil rights investigation for Mumia on the part of the U.S. Justice Department. 

While the eyes of the country are on Philadelphia, join protesters across from the Liberty Bell, where a new memorial to enslaved Africans is being constructed. From 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. the Avenging the Ancestors Coalition will feature a tribute to ancestors enslaved by George Washington. Join Immortal Technique, Tha Truth, the International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal,
the Free Mumia Abu-Jamal Coalition (NYC), the International Action Center, Fight Imperialism-Stand Together (FIST) and many others on Sunday, July 4, to say,  ‘Free Mumia & all political prisoners!’
