Is Afghanistan the "Good War?" Getting beyond media and government spin on the US war there.
Where, The Ethical Society, 1906 South Rittenhouse Square, upstairs
When, Thursday, January 28th 7 pm. (doors open and set up at 6:30 pm)

A Panel discussion with

Glen Ford (Black Agenda Report),
Phyllis Bennis, (Institute for Policy Studies)
Kathy Black (US Labor Against the War)
Jimmy Tobias (UPENN student activist)

The panelists will discuss the role of Penn and other universities in aiding the war makers, the effects of the war on American working people, what it would take to bring the Black & Hispanic communities, students  and labor into a reinvigorated antiwar movement.

Join Philly Against War for a panel discussion on the critical issue of the war in Afghanistan/Pakistan. The Obama administration has drastically escalated the war in Afghanistan and the entire region. In particular, they have ramped up drone missile strikes against supposed Islamist insurgents in their homes, with an appalling cost in civilian casualties. In addition, they have augmented secret assassination squads of Special Forces commandos and CIA operatives, which are  employed not only in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but in Yemen, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
